I'd love your help for my soon-to-come website: Do you think it's vital that my site's name and my shop's name are the same?

Yes, I think it's the only really professional option.
It would be better but not absolutely necessary.
It doesn't really matter if a link on the website takes visitors to the shop.
It can create confusion and make remembering your sites more difficult.
I don't really know.
I wish you didn't make me think so hard ;-)

Just to expand a little, I feel like having them the same provides people an ultimate alternative way to navigate to your purchasing space, by remembering something. That being said, there are literally dozens of different ways you can design or plan for a flow of clickthroughs or paths to your shop to go, whether through 3rd parties or your own separate web pages, profiles or links. I don't think it's ultimate in that it's the best, but it's the last option that people fall back on if they really want to check you out. I don't think it's even the easiest route for people to go, but i'd rather not deprive people of a solid path if it's free. Additionally, it makes marketing your personal pages and stores on your contact media much easier if you only need a slight (or no) alteration of your virtual addresses, which can save you $ in the long run. Not to overdo it, but if i'm on a service like etsy, or ebay, or store envy, and i've forgotten someones url link straight to their website, im often left with using their search bar as my closest option to find where i want to go. If I can't remember their name specifically, and it's not the same as another website or identity that I do remember, I may just end up browsing off into something else. I guess it just depends on how you anticipate your customers approaching you. Sry for the long comment, this topic is something of a never ending rabbit hole to me. Whatever you end up doing, I hope it works well for you :)
