Of my journal skin, that is...
All those flowers growing in the fields and slopes and gardens around me must have influenced my mood. Especially lavender flowers, mmm, I wish I could add perfume to my CSS! So it's soft purple for the background and cream for the text. A cozy little garden at dawn, if you will.
I'm working on watercolours for the exhibition in August. If you think I'm an expert by now... you're wrong! Watercolour painting is supposed to be swift and it needs confidence in one's skills. But when I'm over-confident I can easily destroy a piece by doing exactly what I'm not supposed to do. At the beginning I felt so frustrated I stopped painting for days! Then I had a bright idea, that I bet ten million painters had before me. I tear up the waisted watercolour and keep the pieces for future collages! A small step for the artistic community, a huge step for me.
Ruben, the young man who runs the new hotel here hasn't been around to see my work yet, so no news on this department. It was actually better this way, because I can finish a couple of paintings I would like to show him. I'm free of translating work these days, so I'd better make the most of this freedom and paint my days away.

By the way: ALL my submissions to dA are open to critique and I have only received one, so far. An excellent one, by =EricForFriends on The Oracle. I'd like to invite you to read it, because it's so well written and it shows such attention to details and knowledge of a photographer's way of thinking. But... isn't there anything anyone can say about the rest of my work?
