Description

Agnolo Bronzino, an Italian mannerist painter en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bronzino , depicted Eleonora more than once in his canvases.
One of those works illustrates the cover of a book I have on art. Over a weekend I spent on the sofa because I was feeling sick, I made a pencil and watercolour partial copy of the painting, primarily of the face and necklace. I used a tea-stained watercolour paper to draw on, I liked the contrast between the abstract-looking stains and the classical painting. I scanned the paper and added some more stains in Photoshop.
I hope I'm posting this in the right category, since eighty percent of the work was traditional. I also hope you enjoy it. Thank you for viewing!

I love this. The composition and subject matter is wonderful as is the intelligent approach you have taken. I'm also impressed at the restraint you have demonstrated. Really, really nice. It's one of those paintings that makes me want to say "I wish I had done that!"
